WAVELAND — Dane Simpson Hess, 64, a meat cutter at Coleman’s Food Locker until his retirement last September, died Tuesday afternoon at his home after an illness of several months. Mr. Hess was born April 3, 1906, in Clinton, to Ira and Cora Simpson Hess. In 1935 he was married to Pansy Peterman, who survives. Surviving besides the wife are a son, Robert Keith, at home; a daughter, Wanda Rose Hopkins of Indianapolis; two grandsons; a brother, Pete of Terre Haute; a sister, Nina Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and a niece. Services will be conducted at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Grover DeNeal officiating and burial in Old Union Cemetery.
